Niagara Falls, Canada 16 Sep 2023

Jillian Scribs

Josh and I drove in last night. We are actually headed to Buffalo for the Raiders game, but I wanted to spend the day in Niagara Falls. As many times as I have been here, it still takes my breath away.

We stayed down river from the falls, so we walked into Niagara Falls. This is my first time being down river and the canyon is so pretty. Made the mile go by quick.

Here it is. Just kidding. This was a baby waterfall we passed.

Our first glimpse of the American Falls. If you aren't aware the Niagara River splits around Goat Island, so you have the American Falls and Niagara Falls (Canadian side).

The tower is on the American side and is called the Niagara Falls Observation Tower.

Here is the American Falls. They are the smaller of the 2 falls.

We headed straight for Starbucks. Of course, the Hard Rock Cafe is right next door. Bonus!

Clifton Hill is an area that has everything. Ripley's Believe It or Not, a huge Ferris wheel, food, arcade games, haunted places, basically everything that will drain your bank account.

We strolled through Clifton Hill, wishing we had our grandsons with us. I made a new friend and Josh got picked up.

I decided to zipline. Josh doesn't not do anything with motion, so he waited for me.

My main reason to zipline was to video the falls. My GoPro didn't have the correct wrist strap so I couldn't use it. By the way if you decide to do this, there is a big, secured bag attached to the harness, so all your stuff goes in there.

The people who went with me were from

England and were so funny.

That's me being followed by the red arrow.

At the bottom, I had a great view of the falls.

We were driven back to the top in a golf cart. What a view along the way though.

This is a picture with both sides of the falls.

There is a walkway along the falls and river to give you great views. The closer you get to the falls, the wetter it gets. You can easily see where they got the name Maid of the Mist. That's the boat that takes you close to the falls. They give you ponchos to stay dry.

After walking around for a while, we stopped for lunch.

Our next stop was the Skylon Tower. We walked to the tower and took the little yellow elevator to the top.

It was windy but you could see so far. I could see Toronto and Buffalo.

The mist is really pretty at night. They light up the falls and do a fireworks show.

There's Buffalo. Toronto was too small to get a picture.

We took an Uber back to the hotel. Our feet were tired after that trek.

A rough estimate of the route that we walked.
