Lighthouse & Tres Trapi - 14 Jan 2024 - Part 6

As we are driving toward the California Lighthouse on the northern tip of the island, we passed the million-dollar mansions. I also put on my SPF shirt, think it might have been too late though.

Biba Dushi means Sweet Life. Arubans speak 4 languages, English, Dutch, Spanish and Papiamento (mix of 7 languages). Makes visiting this country so easy. Plus, I never exchanged money. I used my credit card and US dollars.

First glimpse of the California Lighthouse. Named for the ship that sank off the shore. They blamed Aruba for not having a lighthouse. I'm sure it had nothing to do with the drunk crew. Just my thoughts, I am no expert.

It's 119 steps to the top. It's a very tight, spiral staircase with a rope for a banister. Not a clean rope either. It costs $5 to haul your butt up those steps.

The view was worth it!

They had a drone you could pay for a video and pictures from the top. So worth $20 for the video because the views were so good. Remember I said the views were good not our dancing.

At this point, we are all hungry and hot. Off to the last stop, which is Tres Trapi Beach.

Yes, the water really is that color.

Tres Trapi means three steps. Originally there were 3 steps carved into the rock so you could get in and out of the water. Over time they added steps but kept the name.

The water was wonderful but there was a strong current and I was worried I would smash into the rocks, so it was a quick dip.

I had fun watching the pelican. Our tour has come to an end. It was a great decision to take this tour and it was a highlight of the trip for me.

We passed this turtle on the way. It's the turtle roundabout.

Here is the route so far.
