Coconuts & Tigers - 7 July 2023 Part 3
Our next stop was at a coconut plantation. I wasn't expecting much but it was interesting. We learned about how coconuts were grown, and products made with them.
That's a lot of coconut shells or husks, not sure what the outside is called.

This place was pretty. I really wanted to try out this hammock.

We got to try some coconut candy. I even got to stir the pot, which was very thick and hot.

There was a small shop, and we could walk the grounds.

We weren't here very long, which was just the right amount of time. Pop offered us an unscheduled stop. I mention this in case you book this tour, the next stop is not part of the tour.
Here is the route so far.

Okay, so the next stop is controversial. I am including it because it's what we did and for awareness. When Pop offered us the stop, I was against it. I had read enough about the mistreatment of animals for tourism and didn't want to contribute. Jamie (did not have this knowledge) said she wanted to see the tigers.
We stopped at Chang Puak Camp. This is a place with tigers, elephants, etc., that you can take pictures with.

We were taken in a golf cart to the tigers. Jamie was taken into the cage with 2 chained tigers and a chained liger. They had her pose with the tiger and took pictures for her. To get them to roar, they smacked a switch in front of them or on them.

Jamie was not happy about the treatment and said she would not do it again.
On to the next stop. Here is our route so far.
